The Dr. Vibe Show: ONTARIO BLACK HISTORY SOCIETY (OBHS) CONFERENCE IN HONOUR OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICIAL DESIGNATION OF 2011 AS THE INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENT ON OCTOBER 15, 2011 IN TORONTO

With a mandate to, recognize, preserve, and promote the contributions of Black peoples and their collective histories through education, research and cooperation, the Ontario Black History Society (OBHS) is proud to present this year’s Conference in honour of the United Nations (UN) official designation of 2011 being the
International Year of People of African Descent. To commemorate this milestone recognition, this Conference will deliver a variety of engaging and interesting topics from a wide array of presenters.

The Conference will be held on October 15th, 2011 at the Law Society of Upper Canada, in the Donald Lamont Learning Center, 130 Queens Street West, Toronto, Ontario. Registration is at 8:30 A.M. and the Conference promptly begins at 9:30 A.M. The key note address will be given by Dr. Molefi Kete Asante. It should be noted that the other presenters are grouped into four (4) panels for discussions with audience opportunity for Q&A at the end of each panel presentation. The four (4) topics include:

Panel 1 Topic – Organizing to Save Our Lives: Black women and Political Organizing.
