The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 9 P.M. EST/6 P.M. PST – Lauren DeLisa Coleman – Socio-Economic Digitalist

0

Lauren DeLisa Coleman

Lauren DeLisa Coleman is part of the new technorati-to-watch and one of our favorite guests. She is a mobile strategy specialist and analyst specializing in the convergence of Gen X, Y with hip tech platforms. She has coined this unique convergent skill set and expertise in the term socio-economic digitalist* . As a consultant, Coleman works with various companies providing strategy, analysis, education, thought-leadership and cultural intelligence as it pertains to the emerging technology arena. A results-driven innovator with a track-record of success, she works with venture capital firms, tech-based companies and advertising agencies on mobile ideation, insight, audience segmentation and more in order to increase sales and revenue, and refine business direction as it converges with mobile technology (mobile transaction, SMS, mobile applications, QR codes, mobile search, mobile video, etc).

An entrepreneur with 14 years of experience, Coleman is the founder emeritus of Punch Media Group an edgy digital branding and consulting company with offices in both the U.S. and Europe that specialized in reaching 18-34 across mobile phone/emerging tech platforms. The PMG corporate mission was achieved in helping businesses cultivate profitable ideas and strategy utilizing mobile/emerging technology and integrating that into their existing business. Under her relentless guidance, the company created a track record of successful account management, data analysis, relationship management and metrics achievement. Coleman succeeded in creating a leading company specializing in reaching the biggest and most frequent user of mobile/emerging tech today: hip, diverse demographics; and worked with notables from Microsoft to Jay-Z and has even been the force behind client revenue increase of up to 87% within a specific category. Prior to starting Punch Media Group, she was employed at Viacom/MTV Networks.

Coleman is also a rising, formidable media personality for the digi-speak era. Said to be the Anti-Oprah, in terms of recognizing that in the new “leaderful” era the best approach is to provide maximum perspective and digi-socio collaboration rather than try and dominate behavior as the gurus of old, Coleman is well-positioned as an information source and power player in the socio-mobile space. Frustrated and confused as to why so much of what the 18-34 market segment has been told will work to ensure great lives but doesn’t, this demographic is turning to Coleman as a source because of or her no-holds barred approach that brings in a tech mash-up. Coleman has taken the lead knowing that the best one can do now is support people in finding their own voice amidst turbulent times and how to best use digital platforms in the era of self-competency. She has labeled this new phenomenon under her re-definition of SmartPower, that is a specific and growing tribe of hip, young neo-humans who are self-determinant, socially conscious and use tech extensions, such as Smartphones to explore and express a new power dynamic. Thus, she produces and hosts the daily “SmartPower” podcast and has just launched unprecedented site with her start-up team that custom edits and collects the hottest comments on the hottest topics of the day at GlassLDC. The site is where the SmartPower generation connects.

Simultaneously, she just released “The Rise of the SmartPower Class: Navigating The New Digital, Leaderful Era” which is her first eBook and was included in its first week on Amazon’s “Hot New Releases – Best: Media Studies.” The work examines this new cultural SmartPower phenomenon and includes quotes from such notables as rap legend Chuck D and the HBO executive for “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Coleman speaks and writes on this topic, as well. She appears frequently on San Francisco’s KPOO as new media critic, has been featured as guest lecturer at Columbia University, moderated a number of panel discussions both in the U.S. and abroad and contributes thought-pieces to such outlets as Newsweek, DailyBeast, MadameNoire.com and cnbc.com. She is an Ivy League graduate from Columbia University.

We will be catching up with Lauren tonight live at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST. Some of the topics that Lauren will be sharing about will be about the “Smart Power” movement and her first ebook, “The Rise Of The Smart Power Class: Navigating The New Digital, Leaderful Era”.

The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 9 P.M. EST/6 P.M. PST – Sharif Rasheed “Be The 1 Change”

0

Sharif Rasheed

When Sharif Rasheed, a 25 year old African American male, lectures on race relations at universities he fully intends to make you uncomfortable. He speaks candidly and creates an atmosphere that while at times may be unnerving, is ultimately unthreatening.

Mr. Rasheed has the ability to engage people in conversation about issues that have otherwise been taboo. He speaks from a place of experience while providing encouragement to erase all doubt that his speech is just another rant and nothing more. As a result, students feel comfortable discussing their own issues with racial discrimination and inevitably, where they stem from. His ability to relate to his students and create dialogue between races underlines his point about the education systems’ flaws and unwillingness to discuss issues such as psychological enslavement and media’s effect on various races, particularly African Americans.

He combines history with an eclectic mix of current statistics and data to educate people on the troubles that each race experiences, not to convert them. He feels that people, over time, began to embrace their own stereo types. So despite the end of slavery, the vulgar, outdated notion took on a new form that he believes has ultimately created the current state of inequality in this country.

Since creating Bethe1Change, Mr. Rasheed has lectured at Wright State University and has continued to grow a larger following for his blog, which has been featured on several websites.

He is also a 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award Recipient at Wright State University.

As he expressly says in his lectures, “It only takes one.” One person to have the willingness to want to make a difference, to be the change.

Sharif is the head of the “Be The 1 Change” organization. The mission statement of “Be The 1 Change” is:

“The ultimate goal of our organization is to work with youth and inspire them to redefine change and progress. To create a platform that gives people a voice to speak on the change they would like to see. We are inspiring a revolution. One that will initiate new ideas to bring about change and stand up for equality.”
