0

To listen to an audio only version of our conversation with Michael Russer please click on the “>” symbol on the player above the video image.

Beginning in September of 2011, Michael Russer began a personal transformation that included a diagnosis of prostate cancer, radical prostatectomy, follow up intensive radiation treatments and full blown impotence. While most people would call it a tragedy, he considers his resulting impotence to be one of the biggest blessings in his life. It is because of his impotence that he and his partner discovered an entirely new approach to experiencing levels of emotional and physical intimacy that far exceeds anything either experienced prior to when things were working “normally”.

During our conversation, Michael talks about:

– Why he left for California just before he was to receive his high school diploma
– His life being an entrepreneur and successful businessman since his early twenties
– His married life and when did he and his ex-wife decided to get a divorce
– In September 2011, at sixty years old, he decided to change his life
– How he handled being diagnosed with cancer and how is still overcoming it
Indigenist™ from West Australia (Brim, Australia)
– How did he dealt with being impotent as a result of the cancer treatment
– How did he and his ex-wife handle him being impotent during the last eleven years of their marriage
– The first physical encounter that him and his current partner had together in which his intimacy reach a beautiful level
– What are men’s reaction to his story
– How should men and couples handle erectile dysfunction
– He describes three different types of intimacy: emotional, physical and spritual

0

Dale Thomas Vaughn is President of the Global Center for Healthy Masculinities. He talks about his most recent article, 3 Tips to Resolve Those 2014 Resolutions Before the Holidays

His writing and workshops have focused on men’s groups, leadership and mentorship, and the bystander intervention method of sexual violence prevention. He is the Editor of Leadership at The Good Men Project, where he has written over two dozen articles and book chapters on healthy masculinities.

After Vaughn led his 150th men’s workshop in 2013, his focus shifted to teaching men of all ages the skills to communicate effectively, lead more purposeful lives, and become more balanced both at work and at home.

His award-winning work with men and at-risk boys has led to the foundation of the Global Center for Healthy Masculinities. Vaughn provides workshops for groups of men, schools, and college administrators. Vaughn works with a select group of highly committed men each semester in the EmpowerMentorship Institute.

As seen on CNN Live, CBS “Texans With Character,” and in the LA Weekly, Dale’s work with men’s groups has received multiple Best of LA awards, the M Award for service and leadership from his alma mater SMU, and millions of visits on The Good Men Project.

After walking the 500 mile pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and surviving the run with the bulls in Pamplona, Dale dedicated the rest of his life to teaching leadership to men, starting with self-development. Dale founded NextGent.com and began leading a weekly personal transformation workshop for men, helping men to such radical change that the Moving Men’s Group earned a Best of LA award in 2012.

In 2014, Dale launched the Global Center for Healthy Masculinities and The EmpowerMentorship Institute.
