The Dr. Vibe Show™: Black And Bold Voices™ “Why The Black Vote Matters”

57
Black And Bold Voices™ "Why The Black Vote Matters" - March 21, 2015
Black And Bold Voices™ “Why The Black Vote Matters” – March 21, 2015

Techbook Online Corporation®, the largest and most active publisher associated with Project Open Voice, a national initiative to strengthen local content, had Vote or Die Co-Founder, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, as part of an online, multi-city town hall presented by Black and Bold VoicesTM entitled “WHY THE BLACK VOTE MATTERS”, that was heard exclusively on The Dr. Vibe Show™, 2012 Black Weblog Award Winner for Best International Blog.

Accompanying the Shreveport minister and community activist for the wide-ranging, yet focused targeted discussion were Mr. Ari Merretazon, a decorated Vietnam veteran who won the 2013 Congressional Black Caucus Veterans Braintrust Award for his decades of service and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable veterans and who next month in Philadelphia will host a candidates forum specifically on veteran’s issues; Mr. Desmond Meade, who chairs the Florida Coalition on Black Civic Participation’s Black Men’s Roundtable and who is currently engaged in a campaign to re-enfranchise the over 5 million returning
citizens nationally who are prevented from voting; Mr. Paul “Frosty” Jackson, a millennial thought-leader, writer, budding activist and member of the Philly Coalition for REAL Justice Steering Committee; the lead activist organizing around the high-profile, Bridgeton fatal officer involved shooting death of Mr. Jerame Reid, Mr. Walter Hudson, who serves as Chairman for the National Awareness Alliance, and more!

The conversation topics were:

Police/Community Relations: What role should mayors and city council people play in mitigating police brutality?

Education and Mass Incarceration: Can an increase in blacks participating in Judiciary elections mitigate the school-to-prison pipeline?

Jobs and Skills: Whereas, blacks aren’t populating the innovation ecosystem in the same ways as their white counterparts, how can policy assist blacks in competing on in a global marketplace in the 21st century?

Black And Bold Voices™, a quarterly, online town hall featuring black men around the world and the issues that unite them, is a collaboration between The Dr. Vibe Show, a podcast for black men and those that love them, and Techbook Online, a news event company that launched a campaign to improve media coverage and public perception of black men and boys.
