The Dr. Vibe Show: Mike Ramey & Victory Unlimited “Have Black Men Gotten Used To Losing?”

2

Mike Ramey

Victory Unlimited Show

Two friends of the show, Mike Ramey & Victory Unlimited were on the show recently and discussed “Have Black Men Gotten Used To Losing”.

Some of the topics that they touch on are:

– Having a get-a-job mentality as opposed to a start-a-business mentality

– Accepting losses all the time in the criminal court system (black
justice vs. white justice)

– Preferring to have children outside of marriage or a strong
commitment as opposed to raising the children together.

– Choosing to “bite their tongues” instead of speaking out and standing up for what they believe

– Choosing the “safety” of being a perpetual servant to other people as opposed to stepping out on faith and becoming a leader of people who desperately need one

The Dr. Vibe Show: Brandon Hay “Fathers Day 2012 And The State Of Black Fatherhood”

0

Brandon Hay Of The Black Daddies Club

In 2007, Brandon Hay founded the Toronto based Black Daddies Club (BDC) in response to the lack of forums and spaces for Black men to discuss parenting issues as well as issues facing the Black community as a whole. By developing support systems for black fathers, hosting events and discussions, and working with media, BDC strives to empower black fathers and provide positive images of black fathers as responsible, involved and loving role models.

During this discussion, we chat about the history of the Black Daddies Club, what does Father’s Day mean to him, how has he improved as a father, what he wants to instill in his children, the details of the research project about Black Canadian fathers that the Black Daddies Club is undertaking, mental health and the Black community.

Brandon finishes the interview by giving a call to action for Black fathers.

The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 8 P.M. EST/5 P.M. PST … Goddess Intellect “Battle Of The Sexes” In Toronto – June 15, 2012

0

Battle Of The Sexes

Goddess Intellect

Goddess Intellect (www.goddessintellect.com), which was founded by published journalist and highly acclaimed relationship blogger, Telisha Ng, will launch the Battle of the Sexes experience for the first time in Toronto on June 24, 2012. The event will be held at the elegant Peridot Resto Lounge located at 81 Bloor Street East, and will begin at 7 p.m.

The Battle of the Sexes is a distinctive yet interactive social event for Toronto patrons to network and participate in lively discussions surrounding the topics of love, marriage, sexuality, dating, and relationships. Addressing questions such as, “What exactly is chivalry?” “Should men expect chivalry too?” and “Do women still deserve chivalry in the age of the Independent Woman?” are a few of the many conversation appetizers that will spark spirited debates.

Ng stated, “The Battle of the Sexes event that I held in New York City in 2011, attracted over 150 young, urban professionals from varied cultural, specialized, and relationship backgrounds. The dialogue was entertaining, insightful, and an innovative form of conversation around gender roles, sexuality and relationships. That is how I envision the Battle of the Sexes: Toronto event being received in June.”

Panelists will include event founder, Telisha Ng, alongside Lincoln Anthony Blades, the opinionated creator of www.thisisyourconscience.com, and Stacey Marie Robinson, author of books such as Friends with Benefits, and I Wish I never Met Him (www.staceymarierobinson.com).

The evening will be filled with delicious desserts courtesy of Studio Cakes, alluring raffle prizes, interactive crowd games and music by Dynamic Vibe Entertainment, tons of great conversation, and much more.

We will be speaking with Goddess Intellect about the “Battles Of The Sexes” live tonight at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.

During our live interview, you have the opportunity to call in and share with us and ask questions via Skype. If you would like to do this, please call us at: doctorvibe42. If you get through, please be patient and we will get to your call as soon as possible.
