Ryan Knight – Detailing Knights

Ryan Knight is an entrepreneur who turned adversity into triumph.

Knight turned the loss of a job in 2008 as a result if the economic slow down into an opportunity, and founded and launched the now successful company – The Detailing Knights.

The Detailing Knights based in Brampton, Ontario, are a waterless mobile car detailing company whose mission is to save time and money for customers while at the same time saving water and helping the environment one car at a time. They travel to customers homes or even their office to clean their vehicles.

The Detailing Knights strives to give customers an option that only uses 2 – 6 oz of solution rather than 60 – 100 gallons of water with traditional methods.

Knight is keen to pass on his success to other entrepreneurs. The Detailing Knights are more than just another detailing company, they are also involved in helping other like minded entrepreneurs learn how to run their own business using an auto detailing model.

The Detailing Knights take students and trains them to start their own small summer detailing company. Knight’s vision is to have students learning to operate their own business in every country around the world.

Knight now hosts his own TV show, “Green Times”, on Rogers channel 10 every Wednesday. The topics of the show range from passing on his entrepreneurial skills to environmental issues. While working on his TV show he is also volunteering at CIUT 89.5fm with the Green Majority, Canada’s only environmental news program.

The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 9 P.M. EST/6 P.M. PST – Stephanie Small “The Super Sistah” – “Don’t Let The White Girl Win”

0
Stephanie Small “The Super Sistah”
“Don’t Let The White Girl Win!” Stephanie Small

While pursuing a degree in psychology, Stephanie Small discovered a love for writing and an affinity for giving good advice. A former social work counselor, she is currently a certified trainer and college lecturer with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in the Arts. A woman of the world (Canadian-bred with West Indian roots, now living and loving in New York), Stephanie works as a Professional-Development Coach and Training Strategist specializing in Adult Education. Her life’s goal is to educate individuals on how to overcome their fears and discover their own personal power.

Growing up as Soul Sister #1 in white schools with white girls as BFFs, Stephanie Small knows what’s behind the white girl’s appeal. She can tell you why it seems like every actor, athlete and smokin’ black bachelor has a white girl on his arm. What’s their secret? The answers are broken down between the pages of, “Don’t Let The White Girl Win”.

Acknowledging the silent rivalry between black and white women, without apology or pulling punches, Small reveals to single sisters everywhere why the other girl is making sweet love to the brothers who should be their boyfriends, while 47% of black women will never wear a wedding dress.

Without shying away from harsh and humbling personal anecdotes, the book promises to break the cycle. In a style that is equal parts as funny as it is infuriating, “Don’t Let The White Girl Win” gives black women the one thing they need: strategies for winning at love, life and everything in-between.

We will have have the Super Sistah live tonight at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST. She will talking about “Don’t Let The White Girl Win”.

During our live interview, you have the opportunity to call in and share with us and ask questions via Skype. If you would like to do this, please call us at: doctorvibe42. If you get through, please be patient and we will get to your call as soon as possible.

The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 9 P.M. EST/6 P.M. PST – The Omega Nexus

0
Ascended: The True Omega Nexus

The story that led to the creation of The Omega Nexus is a great example of the enduring pursuit of the American dream. The Omega Nexus was created by brothers Roger and Jerry Reece as children, during the early 1980s. Soon after immigrating to the United States from Barbados, the boys found it difficult to adjust to their new northeastern surroundings. The long New York winters were the most difficult for them, so the brothers would stay indoors to avoid the cold weather and watch TV, especially anything that related to action or superheroes. As time passed, the brothers realized that as much as they loved superheroes, there were none at the time that looked like them or that they could look up to as black heroes. With no black heroes or toys to play with they decided to create their own, of course along with a supporting cast to complete their unique imaginary universe.

The characters they created were simplistic enough to satisfy their nine- and eleven-year old needs. Soon word of the new artists spread throughout their New Rochelle, New York, neighborhood kids of all ethnicities were seeking the brothers out to create super heroes in their images. Of course, Jerry and Roger were happy to accommodate all requests and thus was the beginning of their assimilation into American culture.

As the Reece brothers entered high school, they continued to create additional storylines and characters, as the creative process was a bond they both shared. Soon their interests diverged and the brothers became occupied with other pursuits. Roger was the artist, and after graduating from high school he attended The Connecticut Institute of Art. Jerry entered the work force in the telecommunications industry which turned into a sixteen year career. Coincidentally, Roger also worked in the telecommunications industry. As time passed, Jerry and Roger felt an overwhelming need to change their career paths but they wanted to do something creative, and more importantly, fulfilling. The socially aware brothers felt that there was still a serious lack of role models for children, especially African American youths, so they devised a plan. They returned to college both earning degrees in Liberal Arts then decided to revisit the characters they created in the past, update them and share them with the world.

They wanted to create something unique and fresh so they developed a concept. What if super humans existed in this world? What would they do and more importantly, what would we and our government do? With these ideas, they decided to create a saga that would appeal to the adult audience as well as to children. The brothers teamed up with five talented individuals and established their company The Omega Nexus Group. The company intends to create an entirely new genre of superheroes that will re-define the concept of the classic hero through a reflection of modern culture.

“Ascended: The Omega Nexus”, is the first novel in the Ascended franchise. The Reece brothers plan on releasing other inspiring titles that feature innovative, thought provoking themes as the company grows. Their ultimate goal is to promote teen literacy and become major participants in the licensing and merchandising industry.

Live tonight at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST, we will have The True Omega Nexus with us: Jerry and Roger Reece, Jason Francis and Gary Bennett.

The Dr. Vibe Show: Live Tonight At 9 P.M. EST/6 P.M. PST – Janali Davis And Robert Samuel Of Ebony Toastmasters

0

Ebony Toastmasters started out of a recognized need for a chapter of Toastmasters in our community. Michelle Hughes, Sam and Rita Burke spent about one year discussing the possibility of starting a club eventually contacting Toastmasters International regarding the logistics.

The inaugural meeting was held on October 17th, 2005 with 7 individuals present. The organizers with vigor and passion kept on promoting the value of a Toastmasters membership in our community. By May 2006, we had the required 20 members to charter Ebony Toastmasters.

Since then, Ebony has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to provide a forum for individuals to excel beyond their expectations in leadership and communication skills.

Tonight live at 9 p.m. EST/6 p.m. PST, we have Janali Davis and Robert Samuel of Ebony Toastmasters.

Janali was born in Jamaica immigrating to Canada at the age of 1. As the daughter of teachers she grew up on two First Nations reservations in Saskatchewan. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Janali has been an independent IT consultant for the last 15 years and now runs her own IT staffing agency. Janali has been a Toastmaster for 6 years.

Robert was born in Jamaica, Immigrated to Canada in 1972 and attended St. Bonaventure University, New York on a Basketball Scholarship. He graduated with a BA in Psychology.
